Sounds of gunfire could be heard from the outside. Meanwhile, John D’ Amico saw what was going on and how his men were losing to Pablo’s men. He rushed in for safety but met Pablo standing by the door side.

“Where do you think you’re going, Mr D’ Amico?” He asked.

“What is the meaning of this?” He scowled. “This isn’t part of the deal.”

“Of course, it isn’t. The deal is to share the money sixty by forty percent but it turns out that you failed your promise. And who told you that mafia’s leave without a complete deal?”

“This isn’t how your father works with me.”

“You might have cheated on my father a lot of times, but you ain’t gonna cheat on me too. Hand me the device and I’ll let you go alive.”

“That’s impossible. I brought up this plan and you aren’t going anywhere with it. Unless, we’ll have the money fifty by fifty, what do you think?” He asked, trying to mean business.

“Not interested in sharing the money any more, I want the device, so hand it over to me.”

“You’re trying to play smart on me, huh? You f_cking know who I am?” He yanked.

“I don’t think I care about what you are, Mr D’ Amico, I just want the device, that’s all.”

“No way are you having this device, you better have me dead than I give it to you.” He insisted.

“Say that again.”

“Kiss. My. @zz.”

Pablo smiled. He notices John slowly pulling out his gun from his back pocket, he takes Cornell’s gun from his pocket, pointing it at John. “Drop the gun down.” John hesitated. “I said drop the f_cking gun down!” He yelled.

John drops the gun gently to the ground.

“I’m gonna say this for the last time, hand me over the device.”

“Or what?”

“You don’t wanna find out what. Just do as I say and we end this like nothing ever happened.”

John took the gun of one of his men about to make the first move when Pablo pulled the trigger at him. John fell to the ground, bleeding from his chest.

Pablo walks to his dead body. He bends, taking the device from his hand. “You should have just given it to me when I asked for it.”

The rest of John’s men ran away but not too far as Pablo’s men shot them all.

He hands the device over to Theodore. “Run the rest of the transfer to my account.” He said, hopping into the car.

“Yes, sir.”

Pablo walked in and Fred came to him. “Father wants to see you.” He informed him.

Pablo went to Vito’s room. He met his father going through an album of both him and his mother. Vito looked at the pictures like it was his last time to do so. “You called for me.” He said, walking in.

“I heard John D’ Amico called this morning.”

“Yes, he did.”

“What did he say?” He asked, closing the album.

“He said he needed my help to hack through the national bank. He wanted the sum of nineteen million dollars.”

“Did you help him?”

“Yes, but he cheated on our deal.”

“And you let him go?”

Pablo pours himself a glass of whiskey, sipping on it. “No.” He replied. “And the rest of the money is safe in my account. We can use it to treat your sickness and get you back on your feet.”

“You can’t.”

“And why is that?” Pablo asked.

“My doctor came…” he paused for a while, then continued. “He said I have barely five days to live. It doesn’t matter how much we raise for the treatment, it’s just too late to get the sickness cured.”

“I. . . I don’t understand. W-what do you mean just five days?” He scoffed. “Look, dad, I am not letting you die, okay? You’re gonna live as far as I am concerned. Even if it’s just for a year.”

“Pablo, for heaven’s sake let me die in peace. I lost your mother, I think it’s time I have to meet her again. I have always missed her, I can’t wait to see her face.”

“So you wanna leave us? You wanna leave me?”

Vito stood up from the bed, walking to his side. “A father must leave and let his sons take over. I think that’s what I am about to do.”

The pains of Pablo’s words were like a dagger to Pablo’s chest. Since his father had started the conversation of his death coming near, he has never felt this pain before.

Pablo walks into his room, slamming the door hard behind him. He walks to the sit-out of his room to cry. He wanted to be alone, to think without any interruption.

Hearing his father say he was gonna die felt like it was gonna happen at the moment, and the painful part of it is the fact that he willfully accepts his death.

Anastasia knocked on the door but there was no reply, so she decided to enter to see if he was inside or not. She glared around the room and couldn’t find him.

“Pablo?” She called but there was no reply from him. “Pablo, it’s me Ana.” She decided to take a look at the sit-out to see if he was there.

She saw him standing still and she wondered why he didn’t want to reply to her calls.

“You’re here.” She said, walking out of the room to the sit-out. “I’ve been knocking on your door but you didn’t answer so I decided to. . .” He turned his gaze to her and she noticed he was crying. “Are you crying?” She asked, surprised. A tear rolled down his cheek. “Is. . . Is that tears?”

“Ana…” He said in between sobs.

Seeing the sad expression on his face and the tears which stained his cheeks, Anastasia knew some thing was wrong. She didn’t ask, she just pulled him into her arms, hugging him tight.

Pablo is the only son who never had the chance to enjoy his father’s love. And now that he has come to spend the longest vacation with him, he was gonna watch him die?

“It’s gonna be okay.” She assured him even though she didn’t know why he was crying.
