The sound of the gun echoed around the place, people that were around started screaming and running for their safety
Nelson was on the floor on top of Celine, somebody actually pushed them before the bullet could reach him
He quickly stood up when he heard a painful groaned and his eyes widened in horror
It was Mr Smith, he took the bullet on his chest and was gasping for air
“Daddy ………”
“Ander……..”
Celine and Mrs Helen screamed rushing to him
Mrs Helen Squats down and held his head while Celine held his right hand
” Ander….. No…… You….” Mrs Helen choked on her tears, Mr Smith spat out blood on his mouth
” Daddy please don’t close your eyes let’s get you to the hospital, just hold on a little” Celine muttered as tears rolling from her eyes
” I’m sorry babies, I love you guys so much” with that he closed his eyes and his breathe seized
” No…….. dad opened your eyes”
” Ander….. Honey ….. No…..” Nelson was just standing and watching in total shock trying to figure out what was really going on, he quickly rushed to them, when he came back to his senses
“Come help me let take him to the hospital” Nelson yelled at DK who stood like a statue, Brooklyn cover her mouth with her palms to prevent her from crying loud
“We called an ambulance sir, it will be here in a minute” one of the security said
“Go look for that @$$h0le, he must not escaped” snapped, with the help of DK, they put Mr Smith in the car, Celine and her mother entered and Nelson drove out of the place
DK entered his car with Brooklyn and followed leaving one car behind
ONE HOUR LATER, MARVIN – HOSPITAL
Nelson pace up and down the waiting room, Mrs Helen was sitting on a bench with Celine leaning on her, Brooklyn sat beside her holding her hand while DK leaned on the wall in silent, they eyes were red
The doctor came out and they all rushed to him
” Doctor how is my dad?”
” How is he doing? Doctor”
“How is my husband doing, is he okay?”
“Calmed down Mrs Smith, your husband is out of danger but…..” The doctor pause
” But what, f_cking tell me what happened to him” Mrs Helen snapped
” He wakes up after I finished removing the bullet but unfortunately he fell into coma ” the doctor said
” What?” Mrs Helen shrieked in fear
” He fell into coma, I don’t know when he will wake up but let just hope for the ……..” Mrs Helen ran passed him and went inside the ward before he could finish talking, Celine and Brooklyn followed, the doctor sighed before facing Nelson and DK
“Thank you doctor” Nelson said
“You don’t have to thank me, it my duty, excuse me” the doctor said and walked away
Nelson went inside the ward with DK
TWO WEEKS LATER
D. K HIGH SCHOOL
Celine came out of the class feeling tired and exhausted, they started exams one week ago
Today’s exam is hectic” Celine muttered stretching her hands
” Four d@mn papers, gosh, I almost collapse in this last paper” Brooklyn said
” They were simple though, especially history” DK said and Brooklyn scoffed
” Seriously, physics almost explored my brain, d@mn that subject” Brooklyn said and they all laugh
” This is not funny” she snapped they laughed more, she glared at them before walking ahead of them
” Is she angry now” Celine asked amidst laughter
” I don’t know, I will talk to her” DK said and went after Brooklyn
” Are you okay, you have been quiet” Celine said to Nelson
” Yeah, I’m fine”
” You are taking your laptop home, what do you want to do with it” she asked
” Not something serious, I just want to rearrange some old school project” he replied
” Oh…. ” Celine murmured looking ahead of her, she saw Andrew and Elena arguing
” What wrong with them” she asked looking at them
” I don’t know let’s go ask them” Nelson said and they walked towards Andrew and Elena
