? CHAPTER 48?

Next day

Swayer stirred in her sleep, a scowl plastered on her face as she heard the noisy wake up bell obviously coming from the living room. She groaned, forcing herself to get up from the bed. She put on her pink fluffy pams which matched her pink PJs.

She reluctantly opened the door, leaving the room. She met Ivory and Maeve on her way down but non of them said a word to each other for the first time in five years.

They met miss Diane and Mr Griffin in the living room all dressed up like they are going for a camping trip.

“What’s going on?” Kandle asked with a yawn. He’s still drowsy and would love to get back to his bed.

“What were y’all thinking? That we came here to be lazy? We came here to have fun!” Miss Diane said in excitement.

“How is sleeping not fun?” Kyle frowned, rubbing his eyes as he climbed down the remaining stairs.

“Well good morning Wesley.” Mr Griffin smiled at him.
“We would give y’all thirty minutes most to get dressed up and meet back here.” He added and everyone groaned.

“Where are we even going?” Natasha whined.

“You will know when we get there.” Miss Diane replied and they all began climbing up the stairs again.

“I bet we are going hiking. They’ve already exposed it by their choice of clothing.” Ethan said with a frown.

“I was enjoying the comfort of my bed.” Kyle said still rubbing his eyes. They were itching him too much.

“Have you thought about what we talked about yet.” Chrystal asked Swayer. Their rooms were at the same floor and direction. Swayer rolled her eyes, ignoring her. There’s no way she will agree to betting on Sebastian. He is no one’s property to dictate it’s rightful owner.
Ivory is just being a Ɓîtçh and she will eventually come to her senses.

“Swayer you can’t ignore me all day you know. Think about it.” Chrystal said before entering her room.
Swayer turned her head to the side and her gaze locked with that of Ivory. Ivory was the first to look away, entering into her own room.

Swayer sighed, opening her door and getting in. She’s not use to not talking to them. Not like they haven’t argued before but they always speak to each other after that day but this time around, she knew it’ll be different.

How are they supposed to win the quiz if they can’t even cooperate as a team?

Swayer almost screamed upon shutting the door. Fiona stood at the door with a puppy face, holding her box.

“What the hell Fiona! You scared the $h|t out of me!” Swayer yelled.

“I’m sorry Sway but I need help.” Fiona pouted. Swayer looked at her box and realized the kind the help she’s talking about.

“Firstly, you could have just waited for me by the bed of somewhere I would see you upon opening my door not hiding behind my door!” Swayer scolded.

“I’m sorry. I wanted to surprise you not scare you…or maybe both?” Fiona grinned.

“You little devil.” Swayer muttered, falling on her bed.

“What’s the second?” Fiona asked, dragging her box towards Swayer’s bed.

“Why didn’t you just ask Maeve to pick an outfit for you as usual?” Swayer asked with a slight frown.

“Because I’m not speaking to her.” Fiona said sharply.

“Great.” Swayer sighed, taking the box for her. She opened it and widened her eyes at how many clothes Fiona had squeezed inside the box.
“I don’t get it. You’re parents are the face of Colombia and yet their daughter can’t pick her own outfit?” Swayer giggled, digging through the beautiful matching outfits.

“That’s because mummy always picked my outfits when I was little. I guess I got a little spoilt.” Fiona pouted.

“Aren’t we all?” Swayer laughed, raising the perfect outfit. It’s a plain blue sweater like shirt and dark blue jeans.

“What! This has no fashion sense at all! I picked it out for cleanings.” Fiona frowned.

“Didn’t you see how miss Diane and Mr Griffin were dressed? We are not going to a museum or party Fiona. You better wear something that would fit any crazy occasion they have in mind. Plus I love this sweater.” Swayer smiled stretching the clothes to her.

Fiona collected it with a heartbroken expression. Swayer did have a point so she should just comply.

“I really can’t believe Ivory and Maeve. I’m so disappointed.” Fiona frowned.

“Is that why you’re not speaking to Maeve? I’m sure she misses you.” Swayer sighed. She would do anything to just put all this aside and be good with her girls again… anything but agreeing to some dumb bet.

“I miss her too. Anna would be so disappointed if she knew what was happening now.” Fiona said and just like that, Swayer’s phone buzzed and it was a video call from Anna.

“Speak of the little witch.” Swayer giggled before picking the call.

Fabiola came out of her room all dressed in a black hoodie and black palazzo pants. It’s cold so she wanted to remain warm, especially since she had no idea where they were going.

She bumped into Shaun while reaching the stairs. Shaun’s face was sulky and she wondered what happened between him and Natasha last night.

“You..okay?” She found herself asking. Shaun bounced his head without saying a word. Fabiola shrugged, making her way to the stairs but before she could take a step, Shaun pulled her back, engaging her in a warm embrace. She stilled, not sure why he’s hugging her.

“I’m sorry.” He sniffled and Fabiola widened her eyes in shock. Was he… crying?
She pulled away from the hug immediately, staring into his reddish eyes.

“Sh..Shaun?” She called, raising her right hand and placing her palm on his cheek.
“What’s wrong?” She asked, her eyes reflecting worry and genuine care.

“I know.. I hurt you. I’m sorry. I..I want to fix it.” Shaun stuttered. He’s been thinking hard all night and the more he realized his fault, the more miserable he felt.
He never wanted to hurt anyone. He was selfish and obsessed and he h@ťěd that someone as sweet and lovely as Fabiola had to get hurt.

Fabiola furrowed her brows, not sure what he means by wanting to fix it.
“What are you saying? Fix it how?” She asked, not taking her palm off his cheek.

“I was obsessed with Natasha. I was selfish. I didn’t mean to use you like that. I’m sorry. Last night…last night made me realize how foolish I am for thinking Natasha would ever love someone like me.” Shaun rushed his words.

“Someone like you?” Fabiola frowned. Was he insinuating that he’s not worth being loved? Was he trying to belittle himself for someone as blind as Natasha?

“You are an amazing person Shaun, you should know that. I feel sorry for Natasha. She just let someone very rare and valuable go. Don’t ever think you’re not worth being loved.” Fabiola smiled, stroking his cheek with her thumb.

Shaun smiled slightly, placing his large palm on her little palm that rested on his cheek.

“Can…can you give this idiot another chance? I promise I would try my best to make up for the pain I caused you.” Shaun said, squeezing her palm a little.

Fabiola just stared at him without saying anything. She wanted to reply but her mouth refused to open.

“We don’t have to date right away though.” Shaun said as he didn’t like the way she was looking at him without saying anything.

Fabiola chuckled, shaking her head.

“Fine. I’ll give you another chance.” She said removing her hand from his face. Shaun hugged her immediately, squeezing her a bit and she hugged him back.

“Don’t make me regret it, Mayor.” She called him in Ethan’s way and he chuckled. They broke the hug, smiling at each other.

“After you.” Shaun said stretching an arm to point at the staircase. Fabiola smiled, walking ahead of him and he followed behind.

Kandle came out of the corner with a sad face.

“Well, I guess she wasn’t meant for you.” He muttered to himself before walking towards the staircase and heading downstairs.

Thrity five minutes later, everyone was gathered in the living room, waiting for miss Diane’s instruction.

“Alright so we’ve come up with fun activities to do today, that’s why we had to wake y’all up early. The bus would be here soon to take us to our first destination.” She smiled at them.

“And where is that exactly?” Ivory asked with a frown.

“Be patient miss Derby. Now remember, after today, it’s prep time for the competition so I advice y’all to get all bad energy out today as you have fun because from tomorrow, I wanna see team work. Is that clear?”

“Yes Mr Griffin!” They all chorused.

The honking horn of the bus caught their attention and they all rushed to the front yard.

“Alright get in. We’ll be traveling in twos because it’ll be easier to keep count of everyone so get a partner and get on the bus.” Miss Diane instructed.

Chrystal was about going to meet Fiona when Ethan pulled her back.

“What?!” She glared at him.

“Where do you think you’re going, partner?” He smirked.

“In your dreams.” Chrystal rolled her eyes, attempting to move and but he grabbed her hand, pulling her along.

“I thought about my payment. You’ll have to agree to everything I ask for the rest of our trip.”
