“Sophie”she called,I quickly put on a smile
“hey Crystal”I answered waving my hands
“Do you guys know each other?”mom asked with raised eyebrows
“Yeah,we are in the same class”Crystal answered
I took my seat beside her(Crystal)
“You look beautiful”she whispered
What’s up with her?we aren’t on good speaking terms,why is she acting nice?or was she told to make friends with me too?
I flashed her a smile and mouthed a thanks to her before facing my food
Mom kept chatting with her Dad concerning politics,even dad didn’t talk much. It”s obvious Mom wants him to support dad during his senatorial election
“is this a get-together dinner or the political ground? because I don’t understand what’s going on anymore”someone I presume to be Crystal’s brother said
“Forgive my manners, let’s continue with our dinner”mom said with a smile
“have you heard from Tracy?I tried calling her but it isn’t going through”Crystal said to me
“Tracy?”mom asked
“Yeah,she is my best friend”Crystal answered making mom scoff
“Mrs Barry,you should be careful of who your daughter moves with”mom said to Crystal’s Mom
“You mean Tracy?she is a good girl”
Mom let out a smile while nodding her head
I sighed deeply taking a sip from my juice
“are you Alex’s girlfriend?”Crystal whispered to my hearings making me choke on my drink
“What?”I yelled
What did she think I am?how dare she compare me with that jerk?or does she has feelings for him?
“You guys must be really close”mom uttered with a bright smile
“we aren’t”Crystal said dryly
Mom looked at me with a frown, I’ll surely get reprimanded tonight

I swallowed into nothing as mom walked into my room. The guests have gone already
“What was that?”mom asked with a straight face,she doesn’t look like the one flashing smiles not long ago
“I don’t understand”I muttered bowing my head
“you made friends with a commoner when a girl like Crystal attends your school”she snapped
“She is a new student,mom”
“why didn’t you guys get along?”
I bit my lips not knowing what to say
“You have a lot to do starting tomorrow,get close to her”Mom drawled
“Why mom?”I yelled
“You are raising your voice at me?”
“I’m sorry”I mumbled
“We need her Dad’s support during the campaign”she explained
“so,do a good job”she added stroking my hair
“okay mom”I muttered
“Good night”she said before going out
I slumped on my bed,why me?why did I have her as my mother? can I do it?
I closed my eyes as tears streamed down my cheeks
Alex POV ?
I knocked on Tracy’s door but I didn’t get any reply,is she alright?
I pushed the door open and there she was on the bed,she didn’t even notice my presence
“Tracy”I called tapping her lightly on her back
She flinched staring at me
“when did you get in?”
“not quite long”I answered
“you didn’t knock”
“I did,what were you thinking about?”
“what if all what mom said it’s true?what if we are siblings?what is all what is happening is real?”
Tears were streaming down her eyes already,I pulled her into a hug
“will you stop crying? you’ve cried enough already”
“Mom lied to me”she whimpered
“dad will be less busy now, let’s give him a call”I suggested
We actually called Dad earlier on but his secretary picked and told us that Dad is in a meeting
“it’s late already”she protested
“let’s just do it,dad has insomnia so he doesn’t sleep at night”
I brought out my phone to call dad, actually a video call and luckily he picked
“hey son”his face popped up the screen
“dad”I pouted
“Emily told me you called, what’s wrong?”he asked,his face bore concern
“Dad,do I have a mom somewhere?and a sister?”

I pulled Tracy to come closer,his eyes widden as he saw her
“Tracy”he called,his face held emotion
“where is your Mom?”he asked with his voice quivering
“do you know my Mom?”
“We were couples”he said
I ran my hand through my hair,so it’s true
“You are my Dad?”Tracy asked
“am so sorry sweetheart,you guys got separated when you were young”he explained
“I’ll be at California tomorrow, we’ll sort it all out”he added
“We are twins?”I asked and he nodded sadly
This is just too much for me, it’s so confusing. The phone fell from my hand,I have a mother somewhere?

Anna POV (Tracy’s mother)
I sighed deeply as I took a can of milk from the shelf,where could Tracy be?is she alright?
I have my reasons for keeping it from her,I just hope she will understand
Just then,I sighted a woman who looks very familiar,I strained my eyes closely
What the! it’s Vanessa, what’s she doing here??
Crystal POV ?
Geez, I’m late.I’m sure the first class must I’ve started already.
I actually woke up late because I was up all night watching a Korean movie titled”The alchemy of souls” and that big headed brother of mine didn’t wake me up
Just then,I bumped into someone making me fall on my butt.
I looked up at the person with a glare while he just chuckled and meant to walk away. I quickly stood up and held his hands
“Any problem?”he asked making me scoff,what up with all this acting?
“You can’t apologize,I f***ing fell on my butt”
“you bumped into me remember?”he said
“you also weren’t watching where you were going to,you are also at fault”I uttered
“I was watching,I just thought that since you aren’t blind,you should have move to another track. I guess you are blind after all”
My eyes widden in shock,what did he just say?
“blind?my eyes are working perfectly well”I yelled at him
