Chapter Seventeen
“I don’t understand what you are saying?” Lilian texted even as Rose waited for a reply.
“Your scar!”
“What scar?” Lilian texted .
“Miranda and her minions weren’t the only ones there. You were the last person there last night. You were the one who ordered them to burn the room”Rose accused.
“I can’t believe this! You are my friend! Why would you do such a thing? What could I have done to warrant such cruelty from you?”Rose added as she move towards Lilian who was now silent.
“Answer me Lilian! Tell me that my suspicion isnt true” Rose demanded and still, Lilian kept shut.
“I have to talk to Louis about this. He has to know”Rose said as she turned to leave.
“Why do you turn to Louis all the time. It’s sickening you know” Rose stopped a few paces away to stare at Lilian. Did she just talk?
“You can talk?”Rose asked.
“It’s been frustrating having to play the dumb girl. Am glad that I can at least speak to you”Lilian said this time and Rose stood dumb founded starring at her.
“What! Surprised that I can talk? Well this is the real Lilian you are looking at and your right in saying that I was the one who gave Miranda and her minions the order. It’s a pity you survived” Lilian added.
“Why? Why did you lie to us and why are you doing this?”Rose asked.
“It’s simple. I want revenge” Lilian stated fiercely.
“Revenge?”
“Yes revenge. I want to pay Louis back for the hurt he has caused me”Lilian said.
“What do you mean? What has Louis done to you?”
“My sister died because of him. I lost her due to his callousness and cruelty. She was a lovely thing, a kind hearted kid but her only downfall was falling for Louis. Back then she had been in the same class as he and had dared to confess her feelings to him. He should have…..he should have gently refused her but instead, he mocked her. Hurt her badly that her only resort was to ki|| herself”
“I had been somewhere else during that time and I arrived only to attend my sister funeral. I went in search of Louis only to find him partying with his friends. He wasnt even bothered about what happened to my sister and it was then that I decided to have my revenge on him. I got into Royal high pretending to be a dumb student and I started the scholar student bullying. I needed to put my anger on something while I diligently plan out my revenge”
“Though I got Miranda and other students to do the work it was fun watching the poor student beaten and chased out of school. You were the only one who got away and you made it all better when you help me get close to Louis. I had layed low wondering how I would get close to Louis but then you came into the picture and i found out that Louis was interested in me. Isn’t that perfect?” Lilian asked.
“It isn’t perfect cause I will stop it. Wh@ťěver you are scheming would be stopped by me”Rose stated.
“Why? Is it because you like Louis? There is no use denying it. I know you like Louis but he isn’t interested in you. He only have eyes for me. He wouldn’t believe a thing you say” Lilian said.
“Really? Do you believe that?” Rose asked.
“A guy would only believe his girlfriend and not a nobody like you and so if I were you. I would shut my mouth and keep away. Who knows. You might end up being in a worst danger created by me”Lilian said as she walked past Rose.
“If you don’t want to get hurt. Stay out of this and I won’t meddle with you”She added as she left the roof top.
Rose still couldn’t believe what she heard but what she had to do is to tell Louis about it.

Rose got out of the taxi which had stopped right in front of Louis mansion. She had learnt from Martin that Louis had left school because something urgent came up at home.
She was heading to the maid quarter when she heard her name being called. She turned to see Louis and she quickly went to him.
“You’ve been calling like crazy. What do you have to say?”He asked as soon as she got to him.
“It’s about Lilian”Rose said as she took a deep breath.
“Am glad that it is about her because I also have to talk to you about her “He said.
“What do you have to talk about? What did Lilian say to you?”She asked.
“That you accused her of taking part in the fire incident. How could you do that? I thought she was your friend?”He asked.
“I have a good reason for doubting her. Lilian is not who we think she is. Lilian can talk. She is not dumb and besides she doesn’t love you. Her only motive for being around you is because she wants revenge”Rose said.
“She told me all about it. She told me you accused her of all this. How can you even think such a thing? How could you imagine that a timid and innocent girl like Lilian would be capable of such a thing?”He asked.
“She is capable of it and she confessed it all to me. She told me about it herself” Rose yelled at him.
“Well I don’t believe you and just so you know. Lilian took me to see her doctor and he confirmed her illness”He told her.
“That’s a lie. She clearly spoke to me. She told me how she plan to take revenge on you for what you did to her sister!”Rose yelled at him.
“Have had enough Rose. Just stop. I don’t want to argue with you”He returned smoothly.
“I won’t stop. I won’t stop until I make you see that Lilian is a liar. Believe me Louis she is lying to you”Rose said as she held his arm only for him to pull away.
“Why should I believe you and not my girlfriend? Is it because you like me? ” He asked Suddenly and Rose stared at him. Surprised.
“Rose told me everything. At first I doubted it but your constant rejection on going on a date with Peter made it clear. You like me right?” He asked again and Rose stood still. Not answering.
“Look! wh@ťěver thing you are feeling for me should stop. I only see you as a friend and not as a potential lover. So if you are doing this just to get me to break up with Lilian. Then you should stop. I won’t jeopardise my relationship for you. Get over your feelings for me cause I won’t ever reciprocate them”He said as he moved away from her.
“If you still insist on Lilian being a liar. Then I suggest you get the prove. Maybe I might listen to you then. I suggest you take the day off today. Lilian will be coming soon and I don’t want any problem”He said as he began walking in.
“I will certainly prove it to you. I will bring you the prove you requested. I will!”Rose yelled after him as she turned to leave. While she walked off wiping the tears that had began to pour, she didn’t notice Louis watching her leave with a sad expression on his face.
Rose layed on her bed, feeling low and sad and thinking about Louis words to her when Bella walked into the room..
“What has gotten into you? You’ve been like that ever since you arrived”She asked
“Mind your business”Rose said
“I was just feeling concerned. No need to get touchy”Bella returned and when Rose didn’t give her a response, she added again.
“Is it man trouble? Are you feeling that way because someone dump you?”
“You shouldn’t stress yourself because of him. He isn’t worth your tears sis. Instead prove to him that you are better off without him ” Bella added again when Rose didn’t give her a response.
“Prove”Rose muttered thinking about what she said to Louis earlier. If she wants him to believe her about Lilian. She had to prove it to him and she doesn’t even know where to start.
“Yes! Prove to him that he is not worth it “Bella answered again.
“How can I do that? How can I do that when I don’t even know how to start?”Rose asked talking about something else entirely.
“All you have to do is to make him see what he is losing. Show him what he is missing and that has to start with your appearance and ……”Bella stopped talking when Rose stood up suddenly.
“I know what to do. Your a genius Bella” Rose said as she moved towards her to give her a kiss on the forehead.
“That’s gross!”Bella yelled as she wiped it off but Rose didn’t care. All she was thinking of was what she had to do tomorrow.
THE NEXT DAY
Rose walked out of school with a copy of the CCTV footage of the rooftop.
Bella’s talk yesterday had enlightened her on what to do. Every inch of the school had CCTV camera installed and so does the rooftop. So she had visited the security guard and had gotten hold of the footage which clearly showed Lilian talking to her.
Now. She only has to show it to Louis to get him to believe her. He didn’t show up at school today and so did Lilian. She thought as she stood at the bus stop, calling his number.
Just then a car pulled in front of her and two men dressed in black got out of it and pulled her into the car forcefully.
